Areas of specialization
Children 6+, youth, & teens | Anxiety | Art-based & Play-based Interventions | Mindfulness-based Therapy & Breath Work
Laura is an independent counselling therapist working alongside PCCS. She has obtained her B.A. in Psychology, Early Childhood Education Certificate, a Masters of Counselling Psychology (MACP), and is a licensed counselling therapist candidate (LCT-C) with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB).
With over 15 years experience working with children and youth, Laura brings a genuine passion for supporting young people from a wide range of demographics, cultures, and lived experiences. In addition to person-centered and CBT, she uses play‑based interventions and narrative therapy with her younger clients, offering familiar, safe, and developmentally appropriate pathways for expressing emotions, processing challenges, and exploring those big feelings in ways that feel natural and empowering.
As both an artist and creative practitioner, Laura integrates art‑focused therapy into her work with youth and young adults as well. Creative expression provides a meaningful outlet for emotions, supports the processing of experiences, and encourages curiosity. Through the use of a variety of mediums, clients access windows to self-expression, nervous system regulation, confidence building, and grounding techniques to reduce anxiety and strengthen emotional resilience.
Laura's therapeutic approach is empathy driven, curiosity-led, and creatively supported to allow the client the space, tools, and support they need to continue moving forward.
